Baldrige National Quality Program

With ever-increasing focus on student achievement, Grand Blanc High School is seeking every opportunity to improve its educational results. For this reason, the Grand Blanc, Community Schools began using the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence during the 2001-2002 school year.

For more than a decade, the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence have been a significant tool used by thousands of United States organizations to assess and then improve performance on the critical factors that drive their success. Now, the lessons learned from the business community can be leveraged to provide a steady and proven course for education organizations to pursue performance excellence and maintain a leadership position in their communities.

The criteria is built upon a foundation of Core Values and Concepts vital to an organization: visionary leadership; learning-centered education managing for innovation; management by fact; public responsibility and citizenship; focus on results and creating value; and a system perspective.

As part of the Baldrige program, Grand Blanc High School earned the prestigious Michigan Quality Council Leadership Award during the 2003-2004 school year - the first high school In the State of Michigan.
